Spring 2025 Product Update

Our Spring 2025 Product Update webinar on Wednesday May 14, 2025 was packed with exciting news—from brand-new releases to AI-powered improvements and a sneak peek at what’s ahead. If you didn’t catch the live session, here’s everything you need to know.

Recently Released Features

These features are already live in your Team Engine account:

Team Engine Mobile App

The Team Engine mobile app is here! Built for fast-paced field operations and optimized for mobile workforce management, it brings core messaging tools to your phone, including:

  • Two-way messaging with employees and applicants
  • Group announcements
  • Push notifications so you never miss a message
  • Syncs seamlessly with your desktop account

This update strengthens Team Engine’s position as a mobile-first communication tool for field-based teams.

“We wanted to start small with messaging and notifications, but we’re already prioritizing next steps, like saved messages, translations, and applicant profiles,” said Nick Steele, Team Engine Product Manager.

Redesigned Employee Directory

Our redesigned employee directory is now more powerful and actionable than ever:

  • Filter by group or supervisor
  • Customize your column views
  • View documents and notes in one place
  • Contact employees or send messages directly from the directory

This update helps users move beyond static employee records to a more dynamic, accessible system for people management.

Call Recordings & Transcriptions

Team Engine users can now record important phone calls with applicants or employees and keep the documentation organized in Team Engine.

Coming soon: AI-generated call summaries that highlight key points, action items, and follow-ups to bring the power of AI hiring tools to everyday conversations.

Automations Based on Custom Fields

Team Engine now offers workflow automation using custom employee data fields to reduce manual effort and improve consistency. Common examples include:

  • Certification & License Expiration Reminders – Automatically alert employees and their managers 30 days before a license or certification expires.
  • Referral Payout Alerts – Trigger a notification to HR or payroll when a referral bonus is due, so payouts aren’t delayed.
  • Vehicle Registration Renewal Notices – Remind employees when their company vehicle registration is nearing expiration.
  • Union Membership Renewal Alerts – Notify employees and HR ahead of union dues or membership renewal deadlines to avoid lapses.

“We want your data to do more than just sit there. It should trigger actions and save you time," said Carlos del Pozo, Team Engine Co-Founder & CEO.

Hiring Platform Enhancements

To give you more flexibility and speed in your hiring process, Team Engine’s applicant tracking system (ATS) now includes new tools that make it easier to manage interviews and applicant workflows:

  • Add multiple interview stages
  • Assign hiring managers by stage
  • View interview assignments in your calendar
  • Coming soon: Bulk applicant status updates

These features reinforce Team Engine as an automated hiring software solution that simplifies complex recruiting processes for busy teams.

Coming Soon

Here’s what the product team is actively building now and planning to release soon:

AI-Powered Job Title Analysis

Stay compliant with Indeed’s new posting guidelines. This AI recruiting software feature reviews your job titles in real time and suggests changes to improve visibility and avoid disapproval.

“If you have even one thing slightly off in your job title, Indeed might flag it and kill your applicant flow. We’re helping you stay ahead of that,” said Reubie Bolton, Team Engine Product Marketing Manager

File Attachments in Automations

Attach PDFs, videos, or documents (e.g., benefits packets, welcome letters, handbooks) to scheduled onboarding messages.

  • Files will appear as clickable links
  • Works just like 1:1 or group messages

Employee Onboarding Module

This new module introduces powerful employee onboarding automation to help HR teams save time and improve consistency. It offers:

  • AI-powered document collection (starting with I-9s)
  • Multilingual, text-based conversations with new hires
  • Reduces time spent chasing paperwork
  • Keeps onboarding personal and people-focused

“It’s not just about collecting info. It’s about reallocating your time from admin tasks to high-impact people work,” said Carlos del Pozo.

This module strengthens Team Engine’s role in delivering smart, scalable employee onboarding automation for field-based workforces.

Improvements to the App (Next Priorities)

  • Saved message templates
  • Applicant and employee profile info
  • Filtering by job status
  • Translation capabilities
  • Continued bug fixes

“We’re focused on getting the messaging experience right, then layering in what’s most helpful to you, said Nick Steele.
